From a garage in Melbourne to the jungles of Ubud, 23-year-old Maribelle Añes is a gun-for-hire songwriter that’s ready to blow up as a solo artist in her own right. Born into a Filipino family in Melbourne’s outer suburbs, Maribelle grew up singing in the local choir. She was exposed to classic rock and pop from her guitar playing father, before her older sister turned her onto ’90s R&B.
