Live at Bond Concert Series

The Live at Bond concert program launches with Christine Anu, one of Australia’s most successful and iconic Indigenous artists.

Christine’s performance will feature the best music of her illustrious 20-year career as well as songs from Rewind, her acclaimed tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Renowned for fusing the sounds of her Torres Strait Islander heritage with rich funk, pop and rock rhythms, Christine combines lush and cinematic arrangements with a truly great voice that embraces jazz and sultry soul.

Christine Anu’s successful career over two decades boasts platinum albums, sell-out musicals, Hollywood blockbusters, and high-profile collaborations with showbiz and musical luminaries such as Baz Luhrmann, Paul Kelly, Olivia Newton-John and David Atkins. She is a multiple ARIA and Deadly Award recipient, has received numerous awards for stage shows including The Sapphires, and is widely respected as a charity Patron and Ambassador.

As the young face of the 2009 Qantas ‘I Still Call Australia Home’ ad, Tyus Arndt has a voice we can all be proud of. He’ll be accompanied by the Churchie Soul Band, coordinated by Churchie’s Music Director, Paul Kriesch.

The Poetry Gallery is a visual exhibition of poetic works by local writers. Entrants can participate in a master class led by avant-garde performance poet Pascalle Burton, and one of Australia’s most innovative poets, David ‘Ghostboy’ Stavanger. For more information, go to Bond University Website
