GLOW 2019: Creatures and Colours of the Night

GLOW festival is back – and this year it’s going wild!

Inspired by all that shimmers and moves in the dark, the HOTA parklands will be transformed into a glowing night-time adventure for the whole family. Epic installations, interactive projection, performance, live music and children’s art spaces, will shine and sparkle across three mid-winter nights from August 1-3.

Featuring national and internationally renowned artists, this GLOW you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled as creatures emerge from the dark and the magic of colour is seen in new light.

Marvel as the colours of the sky shape-shift into the Aurora tones of the northern lights, with Borealis by Swiss Artist Dan Acher; French spectacle company Cie Des Quidams set free a mystical troupe of inflatable horses on a fantastic ride through the imagination. Australian Company Stalker combine aerial acrobatics with cutting edge interactive technology to create an Australian habitat play space, Mountain; and contemporary visual artist Meagan Streader pushes the limits of light and sculpture within her latest installation, Parallelism.

Families are front and centre with HOTA ArtLab activities presented by Robina Town Centre, a bubble garden and interactive installations for kids to explore.

Of course, there will be food and drinks, speciality food trucks and licenced bars for the grown-ups.

Come out this winter as the night comes alive and goes a little wild!
