Future Now

Future Now Touring Exhibition and Workshops

This interactive exhibition demonstrates how local communities can create a brighter future and a more sustainable way of living through current technologies and approaches. Centred on three dioramas including Smart Towns, Clever Homes and Caring for our Country, Burleigh Heads customers and communities can discover ways to help create safe, clean, healthy futures. The touring exhibition includes three mobile pods representing solutions for home, urban and rural living. Take the kids along and learn about a range of eco-positive topics, including wind power, solar power, electric transport, The Good Car Co., hydrogen power, cultural burning by First Nations peoples, supporting biodiversity, microalgae, seaweed farms, regenerative agriculture and building smarter.

Each pod features three short videos presenting the perspectives of people with expertise in particular solutions to the climate and biodiversity crises. This is a great way to educate yourself and your little ones on the small changes we can make to help reduce our eco-footprint.

The pop-up is running from Monday July 4 until Sunday July 31, and will feature a range of interactive activities, including:

-Four education sessions targeted at families followed by a one-hour sustainability craft workshop with the Craft Parlour on Monday July 4.
-Meet and greet with character dirtgirl from dirtgirlWorld on Monday July 4
-Seedling workshop from 10:00 am-2:00 pm from Tuesday July 5 until Saturday July 9
-Sustainability workshops at the Book Nook every Saturday in July.

Customers will also have an opportunity to enter a competition for a chance to win a $10,000 week-long family holiday to Fraser Island, featuring private tours, local experiences and more!
