FSG Eco Space's Monthly Market Day – May 2018

FSG Eco Space’s Monthly Market Day – May 2018

FSG Eco Space is excited to present its new monthly market days. There will be an eclectic mix of hands-on workshops, interesting talks, pop-up market stalls, food and live music on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

This month, there will be a range of workshops on offer, from paper making right through to how to build your own tiny house! Spaces are limited so you may want to book in advance to avoid disappointment. The workshops run from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Growing in popularity over the last decade, tiny houses are popping up around the country as more people decide to downsize their lives. We’ll focus on giving you the knowledge and confidence needed to build your own tiny house. Because this workshop is hands-on, you will leave not just more informed, but also with real-world experience. There is no better way to learn than by doing. This workshop is perfect for beginners. No previous carpentry experience is required.

Make soil not waste! Learn the easy and fun way to recycle your scraps into black gold. Having an good understanding of how soil works will arm you with the knowledge and skills to properly take care of plants whether they be for food or aesthetics.

Make beautiful paper from waste paper and natural materials.
At this workshop you will learn how to:

* recycle used paper and envelopes into pulp material
* prepare natural fibres for papermaking
* use various equipment and tools including the mould and deckle
* create large papers by joining multiple sheets
* experiment with rough and smooth surfaces
* dry and press your work

Each participant will leave with a selection of their handmade papers and the practical knowledge required to make their own papermaking kits for home use.
