Festival of the Stone
Lovers of fine beverages and live music, assemble! We have some excellent news – Festival of the Stone is back, baby!
Festival of the Stone is Stone & Wood’s biggest beer and music festival of the year, celebrating the limited winter release of its Stone Beer – a woodfired porter brewed with hot stones in homage to the brand’s brewing ancestors. Taking place this year inside the brand-new brewery in Byron Bay, the festival brings together the community for a night of epic live bands, food trucks and fresh beer.
The gang will be pouring beers from its famous beer truck Clyde and Trevor the Troopie – including this year’s Stone Beer that began brewing eight weeks ago – with some of their close friends. Brewed with hot stones from a woodfire, Stone Beer pays homage to brewing ancestors across Europe, who stone-brewed their beer from as early as the 7th century. Perfect for a winter’s night, the hot stones lend a rich caramelly flavour to the beer, complementing the hints of coffee and dark chocolate.
There’s also a killer bill of live music secured! Punk-pop queen Alex Lahey is headlining Festival of the Stone alongside internationally renowned Alice Ivy and local soul songstress, Lisa Hunt. There will also be Dusty Esky, Bunny Racket and a handful of live DJs on the night!
Alongside the beer and beats, local food truck favourites Spice Pirate BBQ, Gunter’s Flammkuchen, Pocket Curries and Zicatela will be serving delicious food throughout the evening, plus families can hang out in the dedicated kids area, Malt Disney, complete with craft and entertainment by Spaghetti Circus.
To cap off the community vibes, all profits from Festival of the Stone will be donated to the inGrained Foundation to help support local charities.
