Electro night at Currumbin Pub

Electro night at Currumbin Pub

Ex-Machine Gun Fellatio drummer Glenn Abbott’s ultra-funky, disco-infused and synth drenched alternative rock originals band Super Massive will play their first show in four years at Currumbin Pub on Saturday 13 April 2019, alongside fellow electro-influenced local artists Bri & Si, Høt Coffee and DJ Psyloskin.

Avant-garde duo Høt Coffee hit the scene late 2016 with a punch impact of electro indie beats, laced with American influenced RnB. First meeting at an Australia day party four years ago, Matt Hansford and Wade de Souza were encouraged by the majority of their friends to join forces. Each having worked in opposing sides of the music scene, they were able to combine their experience to create a blend of both electric and live sounds.

Super Massive is the collaboration of singer/writer Malina Hamilton-Smith and drummer/composer Glenn Abbott (best known for his work in popular, platinum-selling Australian band MGF and side project The Bryan Ferrysexual Experience). Together the duo make intense, exhilarating and sexy electro/alternative/pop music, driven by funky dance grooves and delivered with the lustiness of a rock band. The sound lies somewhere between a blend of AC/DC or Led Zeppelin and Daft Punk or Basement Jaxx, with elements of Garbage, Chic, Siouxsie Sioux, Florence & The Machine, Depeche Mode and Muse. With over five years of touring in Australia and Asia under their belts, their live show is visceral, exhilarating, dramatic, and utterly slamming.

Bri & Si are an electronic dance music production duo based on the Gold Coast. Their original compositions are an energetic and eclectic mix of styles which have been described as melodic techno; melodic psy-tech; and progressive house. Currently working on their debut album, Bri & Si are creating original electronic dance music, and are playing live shows while they fine tune the material for their upcoming full-length album release.

Come early for $10 schnitzels (kitchen’s open 6:00–8:30 pm)
