Cotton Club Orchestra- Return to the 20s

A swinging show taking you back in time, The Cotton Club is hosting Return to the 20s, a jazz orchestra night on Wednesday April 1.

Re-live the Roaring Twenties as the Gold Coast Cotton Club Orchestra transport you back 100 years to the prohibition era with classic tunes from Louis Armstrong, Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. The performing 13 piece orchestra will be under the baton of local trumpet player and devotee of all things jazz Mr Todd Hardy, who recently made his home on the Gold Coast after spending 25 years in the Sydney jazz scene. Hardy studied jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and regularly performed with Monica Trapaga, Dan Barnett, Rhonda Burchmore and his own swing orchestra. He also recorded with Australian jazz icon Judy Bailey for ABC, and his most recent album was featured as an ABC Jazz album of the week.

The Gold Coast Cotton Club Orchestra is best enjoyed dressed in 20s attire so be sure to don your finest era-inspired wear for the evening. The show will run from 7:30-10:00 pm in the Lakeside Room at HOTA. Tickets and more information can be found online.
