COSI at Beenleigh Theatre Group

COSI at Beenleigh Theatre Group

Mozart and Madess come to Beenleigh Theatre Group!

Enter the asylum and follow young director Lewis Riley on a journey of music, madness and self-discovery in Louis Nowra’s beloved Australian comedy, COSI.

The year is 1971. While his friends march in protest against the Vietnam War, Lewis Riley, lands his first job out of university directing a production of Mozart’s opera Cosi fan Tutte … in a mental asylum. With a cast of madmen – ranging from pyromaniacs and manic-depressives, to drug addicts and obsessive compulsive disorder sufferers – Lewis grapples with the politics of theatre, true madness and love.

COSI explores the life lesson that Lewis experiences as his life is touched by these extraordinary people. First produced in 1992, COSI has become one of the most produced Australian plays. Semi-autobiographical in nature, Louis Nowra has written a terrific play about madness, illusion, sanity…and theatre.

Don’t miss out – get your tickets before the asylum shuts its doors for good.
