Celebrate Australia Day the Bavarian way
Swap snags for bratwurst and tinnies for steins of beer as Bavarian Bier Cafe enjoys a true blue, four-day Australia Day celebration. From Thursday January 25 to Sunday January 28, Bavarian Bier Cafe will embrace all things Aussie.
Ease into the Australia Day weekend on Thursday with happy hour from 4:00–6:00 pm and house DJs from 6:00 pm. A limited edition Oz Day Schnitzelmeister – that’s a 1kg schnitzel with bacon, three eggs and cheese ($100 and serves four diners) – will be available for the duration of the long weekend, alongside classic Bavarian dishes, burgers, schnitzels, sausages and shared platters.
On Friday January 26, the Australia Day line-up includes live music from 3:00 pm, a free barbecue snag with the purchase of a stein between 3:00–6:00 pm, and Aussie Pale Ale on tap all day.
The Australian Open Women’s Doubles Final and Men’s Singles Semi Final will be screened live, and the customer dressed in the best Australia Day outfit will score a $100 voucher.
On Saturday January 27 enjoy all that the Bavarian venues have to offer – that’s big beers, big flavours, and big weekend vibes – while listening to the countdown of the triple j Hottest 100 from 12:00 pm. Tennis enthusiasts can catch live screenings of the Australian Open Women’s Singles Final and Men’s Doubles Final.
It’s family day on Sunday January 28, when kids under 12 can eat for free. The Australian Open Men’s Singles Final will be screened live.
