Rounding out the colourful kaleidoscope of entertainment under The Spiegeltent Gold Coast is showbiz icon and living legend, Carlotta. The inspiration for Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is set to perform her latest theatrical instalment, Carlotta: Queen of the Cross, together with Helpmann Award-winner Michael Griffiths on Sunday May 12.

Carlotta began her career as an original member of the long-running Les Girls cabaret show in 1963 in the purpose-built Les Girls building in the heart of Kings Cross, Sydney. Carlotta, a transgender person, rose through the ranks to eventually become the show’s compere and most famous member, making Les Girls a must-see attraction for visitors in the city. Carlotta went on-the-road with the Les Girls show, touring Australia from 1993.

Carlotta: Queen Of The Cross promises to be an outrageously funny and brutally honest journey of songs and stories from 50 years on and off the stage, including iconic renditions of the classics by Berlin, Rogers & Hart, Sondheim and her dear friend, Peter Allen.
