BLEACH* Public Program Launch

BLEACH* Public Program Launch

After an undoubtedly challenging period for artists, audiences and industry, anticipation is at an all-time high for the return of one of the nation’s most unique arts and cultural festivals as BLEACH* Festival prepares to unveil its signature place-based program for its 11th iteration on Thursday June 30.

Before the festival officially returns in August, organisers are calling all Gold Coasters to join this special occasion at North Burleigh Headland with the world premiere of BEACONS by renowned percussionist and composer Vanessa Tomlinson and sound artist Lawrence English. A genre-blurring collaboration years in the making, prepare to experience the culmination of orchestral musicians from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University positioned on a cliff face over the moonlit ocean waves, offering a sonic meditation on the fluid boundaries of coastline.

The highly anticipated premiere of BEACONS was initially slated to debut at last year’s festival, but due to an 11th-hour cancellation, the breathtaking performance will now serve as a dazzling prelude to the BLEACH* 2022 program announcement.
