Agostino Iacurci Match-Mismatch

Agostino Iacurci Match-Mismatch

In-demand Italian street artist Agostino Iacurci, who has painted multi-storey murals around the world, is coming to the Gold Coast in November in an Australian-first. Agostino Iacurci, known for his storybook-like expressionist style, will hold Match-Mismatch, a solo exhibition at 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace, between November 15 and December 20. The Rome-based artist chose the tile Match-Mismatch for the show as he examines the role of coincidences and conflicting interpretations in life.

The Foggia-born street artist, who has been painting massive murals on buildings since 2008 including a maximum-security prison in Rome, is set to transform some of The Gold Coast’s landmarks with his colourful and ironic whimsical art. As well as painting a public mural Iacurci will create a new series of canvas paintings and collages on wood for a solo exhibition alongside American husband and wife artists Matt Sesow and Dana Ellyn in a show-stopping month for 19 Karen Contemporary Artspace and owner Terri Lew.
