According to current statistics, one in four women has experienced emotional or physical abuse by a current or former partner from the age of 15. The grim reality is that these statistics on domestic violence and emotional abuse demonstrate the prevalence and severity of violence against women in Australia. If this makes you feel uncomfortable, mad, sad, or all of the above – you are invited to join Future Females Gold Coast and Miss Diamond International Finalist Shannen Simmons in raising money and awareness for this much-needed cause at A Night for The Sanctuary.

A Night for The Sanctuary aims to raise vital funds for The Sanctuary, a privately funded refuge that supports women, children and pets escaping domestic violence. Guests are invited to sip G&Ts by Burleigh’s Wildflower Gin, craft beers from Burleigh Brewing Co., wines from Witches Falls and dive into sumptuous seafood platters by Tasman Star Seafood and grazing platters from Served with Love. There will be live music, a photo booth and some seriously impressive raffle prizes (whispers are there may be a pink sapphire up for grabs) as well as a keynote speech from Kay Schubach, NSW Domestic Violence Ambassador and author of poignant memoir the ‘Perfect Stranger‘.

The event will be held at Audi Centre Gold Coast on Friday March 19 at 6:30 pm.
