The Winter Harvest Festival celebrates good food, great wine and thriving community
As the crowing jewel of the Eat Local Week event calendar, the Winter Harvest Festival showcases a cross section of all the best nosh that the Scenic Rim is known for.
As Eat Local Week comes to a close, there is one more event that combines all of the best elements the foodie’s paradise has to offer. The Winter Harvest Festival brings together all of the best produce, chefs and suppliers from across the Scenic Rim to showcase what is on offer this season – capping off what has been a great week for growers. Bring the family along to the Aratula Sports Complex on Saturday July 4 and meet the farmers, shop at market stalls and let the kids run wild with a bunch of child-friendly activities.
The Winter Harvest Festival boasts a smorgasbord of attractions that with entertain and satisfy, including tasting plates, wine samples, fresh produce for sale and cooking demonstrations from Josue Lopez, Alison Alexander & Caroline Jones. Teams will also compete in the Kalbar & District Community Bank Tractor Pulling competition, where a 12-tonne tractor must be hauled as fast as possible.
