War and Peace commemorates 100 anniversary Gallipoli landings

The Australian Creative Exchange has organised an exhibition that brings together three countries that are intrinsically linked by war.

The Arts Centre Gold Coast is hosting War and Peace, an exhibition of art sourced from artists in Australia, New Zealand and Turkey. Coinciding with the 100th year commemorations of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli, War and Peace has brought together 30 artists to improve the understanding of the historical and cultural impact of World War One on each of the three countries. 14 Turkish artists have been selected from Haccettepe University in Ankara, and will join 12 Australian artists and 4 artists from New Zealand.

Turkey sustained more than 80,000 casualties in the war, a tragic loss of life acknowledged by Australia and New Zealand. War and Peace is but one link between Australia, New Zealand and Turkey as commemorates the lives lost in war but also the bridges built through peace. War and Peace is a free exhibition, taking place from March 21 until April 19.
