Opulent sky-high feasts to decadent desserts – here’s how The Star is doing Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is creeping closer (Monday February 14, just in case you needed a little reminder) and when it comes to the day of love, a little effort and forward planning can go a long way. Whether you’re keen to dial up the decadence or keep things casual, The Star Gold Coast has you covered with a range of options to suit.

Alan D. Wolfelt once mused that food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate. Sure, you could tell your Valentine how much they mean to you with a cute card, but if you’re also keen to show them by way of fine food and really excellent company (you), go ahead and book a table at Garden Kitchen & Bar. Star-struck lovers can indulge in the set menu for two, which includes your choice of citrus-cured salmon tartare, Sydney rock oysters with champagne or smoked-duck salad as an entree. The main affair is a mouth-watering cut of Grand Chester tenderloin with smoked potato, followed by a decadent chocolate-filled dessert. For those couples who prefer the freedom of choice, the a la carte menu is also available. Meanwhile, Cucina Vivo is luring lovers with an enchanted evening filled with divine Italian flavours. The sumptuous degustation menu includes entrees of buffalo mozzarella and semolina-coated Loligo squid, alongside mains of Milly Hill lamb and a garlic-prawn herb risotto. Just be sure to save room for the dessert, which showcases a taste of Italy with tiramisu, Nutella-filled bombolini, chocolate torte and gelati.

Kiyomi is guaranteed to leave a sweet taste with two exclusive Valentine’s Day offers available. The Valentine sashimi platter for two with The Star Oscietra caviar promises to set the scene for a fanciful Japanese feast, while a matcha white-chocolate fondant will bring it to a fitting finale. If you’re really keen to set the bar sky-high (literally) treat your special someone to a date at Nineteen at The Star. From the moment you step out of the elevator, it will be pretty apparent that this is not your average dinner destination. The Valentine’s Day menu, crafted by executive chef Uday Huja, features oysters (nature’s aphrodisiac), succulent steak and a little something sweet to finish. Nineteen at The Star’s Valentine’s Day set menu is $130 per person and bookings are strictly limited. Oh, and if you were on the hunt for something extra special, Azure Spa & Fitness is offering a couple’s massage for $350, where you can enjoy 60 glorious minutes of deep relaxation followed by a glass of sparkling. Not in a couple? No worries – book the Galentine’s Day package instead. It will be the cherry on top of an amazing Valentine’s Day sundae.

Whether you’ve recently matched or you’ve been married a lifetime, there’s something for everyone this Valentine’s Day at The Star – just be sure to plan ahead and book to avoid disappointment! For all of the booking details, jump over to The Star Gold Coast’s website.
