Five unmissable events happening at The Star Gold Coast that you need to know about

It’s time to start planning your social calendar for 2019 – and trust us, the first half will fill up very quickly. There’s a lot of action happening at The Star Gold Coast in 2019, so we hand picked some killer events coming up that you really need to know about. World-class shows like this sell out, so consider this a friendly warning (you’re welcome) to sort tickets out sooner rather than later.

Jimeoin, Friday January 19
The guy with the best brows in the business is back on the Gold Coast so you can kick off the near year with a belly laugh. The internationally-acclaimed stand-up great is touring his new show Result!, which will be jammed with his brilliance and witty observations on the absurdities of everyday life. This will be one helluva night in the company of one of the most exceptional comedic minds around!

Craig David with All Saints, Tuesday February 5
Yes, it’s true. Craig David is coming our way and we’re beyond excited – but never ever did we expect to see him sharing the stage with All Saints right here on the Gold Coast. The superstar English dreamboat will be touring his new alum The Time Is Now, though you can expect some iconic thrust-worthy beats like ‘What’s Your Flava?’and ‘7 Days’. On that note, Craig David is here on a Tuesday … so we’re wondering who he’ll be taking for a drink? (insert ‘thinking face’ emoji).

Hanson Live at The Star, Friday March 8
We’d be lying if we said we didn’t know every single lyric to all of Hanson’s original scores. If you too share that skill, then do not miss Hanson’s one-night-only show on Friday March 8. The dreamy trio may be all grown up (newsflash – so are you), but their smash hits live on – and this time they’ll be doing it with a live band and a full symphony orchestra. Everything from ‘MMMBop’ to ‘Where’s The Love’ will be spun on its head, and you definitely need to witness it.

The Greatest Love of All – The Whitney Houston Show, Saturday April 20
She’ll forever be known as one of the most iconic voices of our lifetime, and this is your chance to see Whitney Houston’s greatest hits and moments brought back to the stage by the breathtaking vocals of Belinda Davids. Complete with a live band, backing vocalists and choreographed dancers, plus state-of-the-art sound, lighting, vision and theatrical effects, this is set to be a beautifully crafted tribute to one of the world’s most revered singers. Grab the gang, let your hair down and get ready to dance … with somebody.

Tim Minchin, Friday May 3 and Saturday May 4
Gold Coast, Tim Minchin is back! He graced us with his presence last year, but this time the internationally renowned award-winning musician, comedian, actor, writer and composer will be hitting The Star theatre for two action-packed shows. Touring his national show titled ‘BACK’, Tim Minchin will deliver a set of materials from all corners of his (often iconoclastic) repertoire. This is a very rare opportunity to witness the showman with an evening of music and irreverent humour, where nothing is off limits.
