Enjoy frothies and food trucks with your furry friend at Tails & Ales

Calling all doggo lovers, craft-beer sippers, food-truck fiends, and those that go out of their way to pat other people’s dogs (that should cover all of you), the second annual Tails & Ales fundraising event is back at Seagulls Club in Tweed Heads on Saturday May 25 and you and your pooch need to be there.

The event combines three of life’s greatest pleasures – food, beer and dogs (name a better combination), but there’s an added bonus to Tails & Ales. It’s all about raising much-needed funds for the Animal Welfare League Queensland, which works tirelessly to re-home abandoned and surrendered animals. That’s right, you can party with your pooch and make a difference while you’re at it! Held outside on the waterfront at Seagulls Club in Tweed Heads, Tails & Ales is completely pet friendly, with an off-leash area, treats and fun activities for your best furry friend. As for the humans, there will be craft beers from local brewers like Stone & Wood BrewingByron Bay Brewery and Lost Palms Brewing Company flowing across the afternoon – arrive thirsty, because at 12:00 pm, Yappy Hour kicks off with 100 per cent of the proceeds of beer sales in the hour going directly to AWLQ.

There will be delicious Mexican eats from Mamacitas Feisty Mexican Food Truck and moreish hot chips from The Rusty Chippery. Plus, LOT TWO will also be dishing up favourites out on the deck for those wanting a sit-down feast with their pup – or you can treat your pooch to a puppy-chino and biscuits at the garden bar next to the deck. Local five-piece party starters Fire’n’Stone will be providing the beats from the container stage, while your pup can kick back with a nail trim, nail painting or stencil hair dye from Doggie Distractions Day Care & Grooming. While entry to the event is free, all activities, services and doggie treats will be available for a cash donation, with all funds going directly to the AWLQ. Whether you’re a fur parent or not, this is one event not to be missed! Side note – if you are thinking of coming a fur parent, there will be plenty of AWLQ volunteers to chat to  – and you’ll even be able to meet some of the shelter dogs that are up for adoption on the day.

Tails & Ales is being held on Saturday May 25 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. For updates closer to the event, head to the Facebook page.
