Celebrate Japanese culture at Super Kawaii Matsuri at NightQuarter

Immerse yourself in a world of Japanese culture at NightQuarter on Saturday May 14 for a night of fine food, fashion and fun for a good cause. The Super Kawaii Matsuri Japanese Festival is raising money for the Kumamoto Earthquake fund.

Sip sake and feast on sushi burritos (yes, sushi burritos are an actual real-life thing – what a time to be alive!) at NightQuarter’s Super Kawaii Matsuri Japanese Festival on Saturday. Japanese micro-restaurant, Kemuri, will be dishing up delicious Japanese nosh including baos and plates of karaage chicken and there will be a dedicated sake bar set up for the occasion because no Japanese matsuri (festival) would be complete without one.

Inside, The Paddock will have a Harajuku make-over with a fabulously bazaar hair and fashion show from Glams Hair Lounge set to the rhythmic beat of traditional Japanese Kizuna drumming and there will be cultural displays of Japanese dance, martial arts and live ink art by the Japanese Society of the Gold Coast. The performers have generously donated their time and if you can spare a few dollars, there will be fundraising opportunities to help support the people of Kumamoto, who are recovering from two major earthquakes. If you love all things Japanese, head along to the Super Kawaii Matsuri Japanese Festival.
