Experience some of the Barossa Valley’s finest drops at the St Hugo Wine Dinner at The Fireplace

The team behind one of the Barossa Valley’s most iconic vineyards, St Hugo, is descending on the Gold Coast this March for an unmissable one-night-only wine event. The Fireplace at InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort is opening the doors to its intimate dining space (and its glorious wood-fired oven) to host the exclusive evening on Friday March 22 – and you’re invited.

The event will be led by St Hugo’s national wine specialist Katherine Candy, who has expertly paired some of the winemaker’s finest offerings with a four-course menu specially curated by The Fireplace’s executive chef Matt Hart. The evening will commence with a fresh oyster showered with granita, yuzu pearls, fennel pollen and tarragon, matched to the 2018 St Hugo Eden Valley Riesling. Next you’ll enjoy South Australian hiramasa kingfish with kalamansi, lotus, fine herbs, puffed wild rice, grapefruit, and a velvety avocado mousse, partnered with the 2017 St Hugo Eden Valley Chardonnay.

The Fireplace’s signature woodfired eye fillet will mark the main event, coupled with the 2015 St Hugo Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a 75-ml pour of the limited-edition 2013 St Hugo Legacy ‘Last Letter’ Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon. The final course will feature a truffled triple-cream brie served with dill and lemon-cured pear, walnut, a cheddar shortbread and watercress, alongside the full-flavoured 2015 St Hugo Barossa Shiraz. If you’re a wine connoisseur, this will be the ultimate experience – and for those just starting their wine education journey and are eager to learn more, there’s no better way to expand your knowledge base than at events like this!

The St Hugo Wine Dinner kicks off at 6:00 pm on Friday March 22. Tickets are $99 – jump online for bookings and detailed event information.
