Grinspoon, DZ Deathrays and Butterfingers to headline Shakafest 2017 in Miami

Shakafest is back for its second year to bring together all things music, street and skate in one killer all-day festival on August 19. Australian legends Grinspoon will join psych-punk duo DZ Deathrays and hip-hop masters Butterfingers as headline acts in an eclectic line-up of indie, punk, rap and rock.

Held in the Miami Shark Bar precinct, Shakafest 2017 is set to showcase the Gold Coast’s street scene by combining all the best parts of hip-hop, grunge, surf rock and live graffiti art – plus one massive half pipe that will create the ultimate skate demo. The mini one-day festival will showcase a unique genre line-up, with the likes of indie band Tired Lion, rapper Ivan Ooze, Goons of Doom and Brisbane indie-punk band WAAX. Gold Coast rock favourites Trapdoor and Radolescent will round out the line-up.

This rad street festival will feature market stalls, live graffiti-art displays, and plenty of tasty eats. We’re pretty pumped for Shakafest 2017 – take a look at our Captured gallery from last year and you’ll see why! Not only does it bring together the valued niche cultures that the Gold Coast is famous for, the festival also attracts diverse groups of locals keen to experience all the best skate, surf, music and foodie vibes in one beachside precinct.
