Just because it’s a school night doesn’t mean you have to spend the evening glued to the television with a dodgy stir-fry you’ve rustled up from the ingredients left in your fridge (which, let’s be honest is mainly condiments and a couple of carrots). Treat yourself to a hefty bowl of steamy Tonkotsu Miso Ramen filled with strips of slow-cooked Kalua pork, a super gooey egg and the usual suspects including seaweed, shallots, black garlic and noodles whilst sipping on a flight of rum at Aloha Bar & Dining. There are three different rum flights to choose from and they change every few weeks so there’s always something new and exciting to try. On rotation at the moment is the Dealers Choice for $25, The Patriot, which features all-Australian rums, or you can splash out with The High Roller. At $80 it isn’t cheap but you can sample some mighty fine aged rum including Zacapa XO, 21 year-old El Dorado and 25 year-old Guyana English Harbour.

So if you’re in the mood for a little reggae, a tipple of rum and a bowl of delicious ramen, make tracks to Aloha Bar & Dining on Wednesday evening for Rum & Ramen and if you’re really keen, back it up the next night with Beer & Bao’s on Thursday.
