Green Beacon and Rolling Stone team up for a series of intimate virtual gigs

If you ask us, one of the best things to come out of the last few months is the enormous amount of gigs that have been live streamed to our lounge rooms. We’ve tuned into mini festivals, band reunions and couch concerts galore – and the roster of talent has been nothing short of spectacular. So we can enjoy a little bit more of this virtual-gig bliss, Brisbane-based brewing company Green Beacon has partnered with Rolling Stone for a special all-Australian edition of the iconic magazine’s In My Room series, and they’ve recruited a few musically gifted artists along for the ride. To quote Penny Lane in Almost Famous, “It’s all happening”.

Rolling Stone’s captivating IGTV series In My Room showcases artists from all over the world as they perform intimate concerts to homebound folks during the lockdown period. Kicking off the homegrown series last Sunday June 14 was Brisbane alt-pop group Cub Sport, which served up a handful of relaxing tracks with sweet vocals sung by frontperson Tim Nelson. Missed out? Not to worry, you can watch the full performance here.

Other artists set to take the virtual stage over the soulful series include Adelaide’s Bad//Dreem, which will take over Rolling Stone Australia’s IGTV on Sunday June 21, followed by Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever on Sunday June 28. The final act to take part in the virtual gig series will be Sydney duo Lime Cordiale, with its set time yet to be announced.

If you’re looking forward to seeing these local artists jam out, keep an eye out on Rolling Stone Australia’s Instagram page and Green Beacon’s Instagram page for set times.
