REVEL in Byron Bay’s unique food and culture at this delicious new festival

Byron Bay and the surrounding Northern Rivers region are home to some impeccable food and unique cultural experiences. Whether you’re keen to indulge in beachside gourmet delights, sip on native botanical gin in the hinterland or succumb your senses to the culturally diverse art on display, there is no shortage of experiences to surprise and delight even the most seasoned traveller on a trip down to Byron. After a rough few years that saw a pandemic and destructive floods, this vibrant region is ready to wow once more, celebrating the melting pot of talent, taste and diversity with the inaugural REVEL Byron Bay Food and Culture Festival.

Byron is set to come alive with REVEL, a brand new food and culture festival hosted across the Northern Rivers from Thursday November 10 until Sunday November 13. Across four days, attendees will watch the festival take over an array of local businesses and iconic Byron Bay locations for a dynamic series of events, long lunches, twilight soirees, public art installations, performances, health and wellness classes, produce markets, tours, panel discussions, workshops and more. Festival directors Alex Taylor and Jonny Ruddy have curated the REVEL Byron Bay program to showcase the Byron Shire’s diversity. Expect to see cuisine and cultural experiences that highlight the local community’s melting pot of cultures, philosophies, backgrounds and talent.

The program will revolve around the REVEL Festival Village – a precinct hosted at the North Byron Hotel full of incredible food, tantalising tipples, music and arts. Complementing the village will be on-site events from some of your favourite Northern Rivers establishments, including Harvest, Three Blue Ducks, Belongil Beach Italian Food, Bang Bang Byron Bay, Barrio, Capiche, The Hut, The Roadhouse, Treehouse on Belongil, Raes on Wategos and the Mosey on Inn group (Ciao Mate!, The Eltham and You Beauty), plus many more. In addition to feasts at these tasty haunts, there will be events at Beachside REVEL – a precinct overlooking Byron Bay Main Beach – on Thursday and Friday, plus multiple events at the Secret REVEL Garden precinct in town on Saturday and Sunday. Throughout the festival, attendees can celebrate and pay homage to the local community alongside cultural and industry figures as the Shire looks to honour local tradition and support the community as it blossoms post-pandemic and floods.

If you’ve been craving an escape across the border, we recommend checking out REVEL Byron Bay’s official program and planning a cheeky long weekend amidst the beauty of the Northern Rivers.
