Save your sanity – things to see, do and devour on the Gold Coast these school holidays

School holidays are – for the most part – a welcome reprieve from the relentless Monday-to-Friday routine. Two glorious weeks of freedom – hurrah! The downside to all of this extra time is that you have to fill it with something and, let's be honest, there's only so many times you can watch Frozen 2 in a day. If the thought of finding activities to keep your offspring amused has you breaking out in a cold sweat, fear not. We’ve rounded up some fun things to do with the kids across the Gold Coast these school holidays. more

Along with its natural beauty, North Straddie also boasts a rich history and culture, which has been carefully preserved by the traditional custodians of the land, the Quandamooka People, who have cared for Minjerribah for more than 20,000 years. So you can experience some of the island’s rich arts and cultural traditions, members of the vibrant local arts community are swinging open their doors and inviting visitors to their private studios, workshops and galleries as part of the Minjerribah Arts Trail from Friday September 18 to Monday October 5. While this situation hurts the collective heart of music lovers everywhere, there is a glimmer of good news to get us through the cold winter – a drive-in music festival by the name of Airwaves is happening at Nambour Showgrounds in July. more
