Sensory overload – enjoy ten days (straight!) of food and music at NightQuarter during GC2018
Iconic food and music destination NightQuarter is gearing up for its biggest event to date – a ten-day festival from April 5–14. That’s right – NightQuarter will be open every single day and night for ten days straight during GC2018. Oh boy, this is big. Here’s what you need to know.
The ten-day NightQuarter Festival forms part of Festival 2018, which is the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games’ arts and culture program. So, you’ll be able to visit NightQuarter daily from 12:00–9:00 pm from April 5 through to April 14 – yep, non-stop NightQuarter! Home to more than 60 street-food restaurants, NightQuarter will roll out a stellar program of food, arts and music, highlighting the best flavours, sights and sounds that the coast has to offer.
The bold program pushes a few boundaries by exploring unique culinary themes like food science (think spaghetti made a physicist), permaculture and urban gardening. Plus, the food program will also feature a range of events that delve into Indigenous tastes, like traditional ‘kupmurri’ feasts and native botanical cocktails. That’s just the tip of the iceberg though – the food line-up is flat-out incredible!
Treat your ears as well, with a world-class line-up of music and arts featuring acts like Baker Boy, Electrik Lemonade, Emily Wurramarra, Kallidad, Elska, The Twine, Jesswar and many more. Each day the program will showcase an entirely new series of musicians and artists, which will shine the light on this fine city in the most spectacular fashion. Head online to check out the entire NightQuarter Festival program.
