From colour-filled discos to all-white parties and flavoursome feasts – celebrate New Year’s Eve at The Star

We’ve reached the point in the year where time is but a construct and before you know it we’ll be basking in summer days off work, feasting on Christmas cheer and saying goodbye to the year that was. While it may seem far away, New Year’s Eve will be here before you know it, which is why we’ve hounded The Star to get all the goss on its end-of-year parties. From picnics under the stars to Grey Goose-fuelled soirees and decadent feasts, here are a few ideas on how you can count down to midnight for New Year’s Eve 2023.

On December 31 the festivities kick off at The Star’s Grand Pool Lawn for one of the most sizzling soirees of the year. Tickets to this 18-plus event are $225 per person and give you the chance to walk the red carpet and spend the night dancing under neon lights poolside to tunes by internationally renowned rhythm-and-soul icon, Lisa Hunt. Embrace the disco vibes as you devour delicacies from the various food stations and roving canapes, dance to live DJs and keep the party going with a four-hour drinks package and a sparkling midnight toast. On the flip side, you can ditch the colour in favour of all-white attire at Isoletto Prive & Lawn’s luxe Night of White party and ring in the new year with a live set from megastar DJ Brooke Evers. For $279, dress in white and enjoy an evening filled with delicious canapes and fragrant dishes from the food stations. Quench your thirst with a Grey Goose cocktail on arrival and enjoy a four-hour Moët & Chandon Impérial deluxe and Grey Goose vodka beverage package before enjoying front-row seats to The Star’s sparkling fireworks display. If you want to take your New Year’s celebrations sky-high, head up 19 levels for an unmissable celebration at Nineteen at The Star. Soak up an evening of style and sophistication at one of Nineteen’s two first-class dinner sessions. The 2.5-hour sunset seating is $200 per person and gives attendees a four-course set menu including a seafood platter, a choice of mains like Patagonian toothfish or fillet steak and delicious desserts. The moonlight seating offers a similar exuberant menu and more than four hours of fun for $240 per person. Here, you and your crew can wait for the clock to strike midnight with champagne in hand.

Those looking for something a little more laid-back can head to Garden Kitchen & Bar for a night of feasting and fun on The Lawn, before dancing away the final hours of 2023 to huge hits from Tigerlily (DJ set) and Natalie Sax. Picnic tables under the stars are $1600 for ten people and include a three-hour beverage package, live entertainment, decadent platters with Angus beef sliders, arancini and wagyu meatballs, as well as exclusive viewing of the midnight fireworks. Alternatively, if you’d prefer a special dinner with your loved ones, consider booking a table at The Restaurant – with session one running from 5:00 pm (for two hours) and session two from 8:00 pm until late. Those seeking an early dinner can reserve a table for session one online and enjoy a la carte dining. Tickets to session two are $195 per person and include a three-course set menu and a three-hour beverage package.

For those craving international flavours in their New Year’s Eve celebrations, Cucina Vivo will be serving up salivation-inducing Italian eats that are sure to cure your hunger. Eager diners can arrive early for a set menu and a welcome glass of sparkling or appear later to indulge in a three-hour beverage package and five-course menu from 8:30 pm. This stellar feast features the likes of buffalo mozzarella arancini, Cape Grim beef tenderloin with gnocchi fungi and a dark-chocolate tart. Delizioso! Lovers of Japanese cuisine will be happy to hear that Kiyomi is tantalising taste buds this New Year’s Eve, with the much-loved restaurant’s culinary creations ready to surprise and delight. There are no set menus – simply make a booking and prepare to make your final meal of 2023 the best yet. In the mood for tasty Cantonese classics? Spend the last night of 2023 with Uncle Su and prepare to indulge in a selection of signature Beijing and Szechuan favourites like king crab, lobster, abalone, oysters, barramundi and more. There are two seatings available for booking at Uncle Su – session one starts between 5:30–6:00 pm and session two runs from 7:45 pm until late – with the a la carte menu available for both. If you can’t settle on just one cuisine, pull up a seat at Harvest Buffet for the ultimate feasting experience. Harvest also has two seatings to choose from (5:00–7:00 pm or 7:30–9:30 pm), where you can pile your plate high with an indulgent selection of hot and cold seafood, freshly shucked oysters, meats from the carvery station, vibrant salads, cheeses and plenty of desserts.

Where will you be for the final moments of 2023? Wherever you decide, we recommend booking your tickets ASAP to avoid missing out. Visit The Star’s website for the latest information and ticket links.
