Picnics under the stars and sunset rooftop parties – celebrate New Year’s Eve at The Star

This very weird year is almost over, folks! If you’re ready to usher in 2021 in spectacular fashion (because let’s be honest, if ever there was a year to be a total baller on New Year’s Eve, this is it), we know just the place – The Star Gold Coast! To help you celebrate in style, the Broadbeach favourite is dishing up a smorgasbord of things to see, do and devour, from pretty picnics on the lawn through to sophisticated sunset soirees and mouth-watering Italian spreads. Read on for a few ideas on how you can make your countdown to midnight extra special this New Year’s Eve …

If delicious food and plenty of fun-filled festivities sound like your vibe for New Year’s Eve, then The Star Gold Coast has got your last party of the year sorted. The fun kicks off at Garden Kitchen & Bar this December 31, where guests can head out onto the lush grass of The Lawn to savour a delectable picnic spread and three-hour premium beverage package. Under the starry night sky you can indulge in enticing bites like charcuterie, artisan cheese, Angus beef sliders and mini cheese kransky hot dogs ready to fill your belly.

For those craving international flavours in their New Year’s Eve celebrations, Cucina Vivo will be serving up salivation-inducing Italian eats that will cure your hunger. Eager diners can arrive early for a set menu and a welcome glass of prosecco, or appear later to indulge in a three-hour beverage package and a mouth-watering menu. This stellar feast features the likes of San Danielle prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella, wood-grilled ciabatta and heirloom tomatoes, dry-aged Stanbroke sirloin on the bone, and gingernut white-chocolate cheesecake with sticky maple pear, Edelweiss chocolate and candied-orange ice-cream. Lovers of Japanese cuisine will be happy to hear that Kiyomi will also be tantalising tastebuds this New Year’s Eve, with a sumptuous set menu for two created by visionary executive head chef Chase Kojima. Sip a welcome glass of bubbly before dining on dishes like tuna tartare with pickled wasabi, yolk, nori and aged soy, spanner-crab chawanmushi with pecorino and burnt butter, Kiwami wagyu striploin with hatcho miso, shimeji and onion jus, and yuzu tart.

If you’re in the mood for tasty Chinese delights, Imperial at The Star has you covered with two flavoursome options for a New Year’s Eve dinner you won’t forget. Choose your own foodie adventure from the a la carte menu, or bring a mighty appetite to the second seating and feast on a Chinese banquet featuring finger-licking dishes like salt-and-pepper silver fish with vegetable spring rolls, grilled diced steak and mushroom in black pepper sauce, and red-bean custard with a special sesame ball. Want to take your New Year’s celebrations to sky-high heights? Head up 19 levels to The Darling’s rooftop for a celebration at Nineteen at The Star, where you and your crew can wait for the clock to strike 12:00 am with a champagne in hand.
