From live bongos to tropical cocktails – jazz up your New Year’s Eve at Cabana Bar’s lively Cuban bash

If spending New Year’s Eve in the Caribbean seems a little out of reach this year, then we’ve found the next best thing. Cabana Bar & Lounge is being transformed into a tropical paradise for a massive New Year’s bash, and you’re invited. Get your dancing shoes on, let your hair down and find a spot in the conga line – this is going to be one jazzy cocktail-filled affair.

Cabana Bar & Lounge know how to throw a party, and New Year’s Eve will be no exception. The Havana Nights event will give a colourful nod to the heart of the Caribbean, with tropical cocktails, Cuban-inspired eats and tapas, live bongo players and a live DJ pumping out the best toe-tapping Latin beats – that’s right, expect to be shaking your bon-bon well into the night (with a cocktail in hand, of course).

Now, that’s not all that Southport Sharks has planned. If you’re up for a culinary celebration, then head to Carmody’s for a sumptuous three-course feast. The signature menu will feature a selection of mouth-watering dishes like Ink Gin-cured trout and a spiced lamb loin with kasundi, pickled lentils and smoked yoghurt. You’ll finish on a sweet note with delectable desserts like the Nutella Smores with choc-hazelnut cremeux, Graham Cracker crumb, burnt marshmallow, peanut butter mousse, orange curd and honeycomb ice-cream (drool). You can kick on at the main stage for the INXS tribute show and really rock out for the last few moments of 2017.
