Do your part to raise awareness for National Whale Day

The plight of the whale is a topic close to the hearts of many. National Whale Day attempts to draw support from the local community by hosting a whale-themed day of fun.

On Sunday June 28, thousands of whale lovers across Australia will be taking part in various festivities for National Whale Day. The majestic aquatic beasts face mass extinction due to hunting and changes in climate and in order to save whales from this grim fate, several organisations will be hosting National Whale Day activities to raise funds and awareness for various projects. Mandala Organic Arts Cafe will be hosting an all-day celebration to help raise funds in conjunction with the International Fun for Animal Welfare.

From 10:00 am, attendees can enjoy live music performances from local bands such as Akova, Julie Hayes, Purling Brook and more, while creative types can take part in an all-day art competition. The afternoon will feature a viewing of acclaimed documentary Black Fish, followed by the drawing of a raffle with heaps of prizes to be won. Whales are crucial to the ocean’s ecosystem and are stunning creatures, show your support and head to Mandala Organic Arts Cafe for a whale of a time.
