Dive into a good cause with the Gold Coast MS Swimathon

Charitable folks across Queensland are putting on their togs and diving headfirst into the MS Swimathon, a 12-hour relay that hopes to raise funds for Queenslanders living with multiple sclerosis.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system that affects over 23,000 people in Australia alone. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for MS, and those suffering must rely on symptomatic treatments. The MS Swimathon is one of many charities that look to raise funds to not only further research into a cure for MS, but also providing support and assistance for families affected.

On Saturday February 28, thousands of people across Queensland will be participating in a 12-hour relay for the MS Swimathon. Participating teams of six or more are sponsored by friends, family and colleagues before the event where they can swim any style or distance they prefer.

The Gold Coast event for the MS Swimathon will be held at the Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre. It’s not too late to take part – round up some friends and head to the MS Swimathon website to register.
