Be captivated by Motherland at The Arts Centre
Motherland is a compelling drama about three women, leading three incredibly different lives, that are ultimately united in the heartache of exile from their homelands. Strap yourself in, you’re about to board an emotional roller coaster that will have you captivated from the very first breath.
A gripping historical drama, Motherland expertly intertwines the stories of three women from different continents and times. From the disorder of a Russian military coup, through the hell of Nazi-occupied France to an unstable Brisbane in the midst of the Fitzgerald Inquiry, Motherland is unlike anything you’ve seen before or are likely to see again and delves into themes of love, loss, belonging and the notion of home.
Penned by Brisbane playwright Katherine Lyall-Watson, Motherland has earned a swag of accolades including winner of Best Independent Production at the Matilda Awards and is coming to The Arts Centre Gold Coast for a strictly limited season from Friday May 6 to Saturday May 7. The passionate, contemporary drama promises to linger in your mind long after the curtain draws. Surprise your mum with tickets for Mother’s Day.
