Check out the culturally aware artwork from Adam Rish
Misanthropology: The World Art of Adam Rish is a new exhibition at The Arts Centre Gold Coast that looks at regional diversity and the combination of Indigenous cultures through a modern lens.
Adam Rish has spent the past three decades examining and re-interpreting Indigenous cultural practices for his art, which is a cross-cultural representation of traditional techniques in modern form. By inserting modern technological elements as substitutes for traditional iconography, Adam has coined the term ‘misanthropolgy’, a deliberate cultural intervention and a study of suburban inhumanity.
This Sydney based artist is showcasing his exhibition of ‘world art’ at The Arts Centre Gold Coast from January 31 to March 15. Showcasing a range of ceramics, paintings, prints, sculpture and textiles, Adam is a widely talented and highly imaginative artist.
