Marg it up at some of the coast’s favourite bars in February

Calling all tequila-loving bar-hoppers! A handful of the coast’s best watering holes are hosting a Margarita Month sponsored by Herradura Tequila. Yes, friends, for an entire month, you can sip $15 margs at Bine, Mr Hizolas, Hideaway, Nightjar, Nightcap and Precinct Brewing – hellooooo happiness. We’re already half way through February but fret not, there’s still plenty of time left to partake. Read on for all of the delicious details …

It’s no secret that top-notch tequila is the key to a next-level margarita, but you may not have realised that there’s actually five different types of the boozy blue-agave juice to choose from. You can find three kinds of Herradura Tequila on menus around the coast this month: reposada, plata, and añejo. For just a taste of what will be on offer, Bine will be slinging frozen mango, watermelon Tommy and classic margs all month, while Mr Hizolas will be adding its signature flair to the lineup. The Burleigh Heads Cantonese canteen will be serving up a mango and Szechuan peppercorn marg, a margarita with reposada tequila, Midori, pineapple and lemongrass and a marg with plata tequila and blue curacao.

If you prefer to enjoy your margarita al fresco, head down to The Backyard Cafe in Nobby Beach that will be serving up frozen margaritas (to be enjoyed in the sunshine, of course) – choose between classic, mango and strawberry. Or just get all three. Hideaway Kitchen and Bar, Nightjar, Nightcap and Precinct Brewing Co. will all be putting their own spin on the delicious drink, which will be available for $15 from each watering hole. Head down to each venue in the month of February to try them for yourself.
