Party off the track at The Star when Magic Millions races into town
This summer is jam-packed with hot-to-trot happenings – and you could say we are just a little bit excited. One event that is guaranteed to get 2021 off to a sensational start is The Star Gold Coast’s Magic Millions Carnival and Raceday, which is returning to Broadbeach on Saturday January 16 with a sizzling showcase of heart-pumping action, killer entertainment and dazzling dining packages. Saddle up for a good time and read on for a sneak peek of what’s in store …
Thrilling racing on the big screen, kick-ass live entertainment and dynamite dining deals that are set to get tongues wagging – the upcoming Magic Millions carnival at The Star Gold Coast is much more than a one-trick pony. For sky-high sips and snacks, gather your herd and ride in to Nineteen at The Star’s lavish race-day celebrations. Hosted by Channel 7 sports presenter and television personality Abbey Gelmi, this five-course lunch promises a bounty of mouth-watering fare (think fresh oysters, prawn and oscietra caviar, and confit duck rillette), four hours of tantalising tipples and plenty of screens to catch all of the championship action. Plus, if you need to tear your eyes away from the television, Nineteen offers some pretty stellar views out to the ocean and city skyline.
More race-day fun awaits at The Star’s very own Italian stallion, Cucina Vivo, where sports aficionados can toast the thoroughbreds and fillies in style with a five-course lunch, with three hours worth of Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut to sate thirsty folk. Hosted by Channel 7 presenter Candice Dixon, this decadent meal features the likes of vanella burratina with fresh figs, aragosta risotto with Australian Bay lobster bug, and a rack of Milly Hill lamb topped with smoked eggplant puree and fregola. For the ultimate fun-in-the-sun experience, guests can book a picnic on The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar. Hosted by 102.9 Hot Tomato announcer Carla Tooma, this alfresco soiree guarantees spectators a private table to cheer on the main races, and a spread full of delectable delights including avocado, nectarine and walnut salad, chargrilled Angus beef sliders, house-smoked salmon skewers, avocado and prawn ceviche, karaage-style chicken and crispy fries.
For a more casual cool vibe, punters (and up to eleven of their friends) can make tracks inside Garden Kitchen & Bar to slip in to a private booth where they can spend the afternoon with ice-cold beers and brilliant bites. Guests can choose their own delicious dishes from the eatery’s jam-packed menu, or make the most of their day by upgrading their feast to include bottomless champagne and sparkling wine – now, that’s something to cheers to. After the last horse has passed the post, eager spectators can take to the lush surrounds of The Lawn, which will come alive with live music and DJ sets from 4:00 pm until late, with DJ Kid Kenobi, DJ John Course and electronic dance showstopper Will Sparks on the decks. This is one party not to be missed.
