Experience a Japanese-Italian fusion at Lucky Bao’s tasty degustation event

Modern Asian eatery Lucky Bao, which burst onto the Gold Coast dining scene in late 2016, is mixing up the vibe with a delicious Italian-inspired degustation event. It’s all happening on Thursday August 24 – and with the likes of mini gorgonzola bao on the menu, you’ll definitely want to get yourself a seat at the table.

Lucky Bao has teamed up with Italian winemaker Sandro Masole to present a five-course wine-matched degustation. Now, Lucky Bao is known (obviously) for its pillow-soft bao, amazing Asian-inspired share-food menu, and vibrant spread of cocktails – but you can expect the menu to be shaken up like never before for this delicious event.

The Japanese-Italian wine dinner will feature dishes like kingfish carpaccio, a risotto of mushroom, corn, kombu (a type of seaweed) and shiso (Japanese herb), plus Japanese wagu bolognese, an Asian caprese salad with organic tofu, as well as an Asian cheese course. The evening, which will be hosted by Sandro Masole, will see each dish paired with a series of minimal intervention Italian wine varietals. Keen? Same. Tickets are $90, including five courses with wine. To book email [email protected] or call 07 5679 6517. Oh, and there’s a spring degustation in the works too, so keep your eyes peeled.
