Gold Coast, things are about to get a little bit exotic. On Boxing Day (December 26), Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary will unveil the largest precinct ever seen in its 70-year history. Prepare to go on a mind-blowing ancient journey through Lost Valley.

Red pandas and lemurs and reptiles, oh my! That’s right, friends – Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s new 5-hectare Lost Valley precinct will be brimming with of some of the world’s most exotic species of flora and fauna when the new amazing new exhibit officially opens to the public on December 26. Everything from ring-tail lemurs to cotton-top tamarins, various free-flying birds, exotic reptiles and many more adorable and intriguing creatures will be calling Lost Valley home.

Even the humble Capybaras – known as the largest living and most friendly rodent in the world – will be hanging out in Lost Valley’s lush tropical rainforest alongside breathtaking botanicals. The interactive new addition to the National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary (NTCWS) is designed to give guests an immersive and up-close experience with some of the world’s most unique wildlife. The living and breathing rainforest is totally natural, creating a sustainable and biological environment for the animals and plants to thrive – with few places on earth that contain so many plants and animals that are almost identical to their ancient ancestors, you’re sure in for a treat!   The Lost Valley at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a tribute to the true Lost World Valley in the Gold Coast Hinterland, which is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, expansive rainforest reserves across Queensland and New South Wales.
