Warm up at this season’s sizzling showcase of (free!) live music under the stars
Summer may be a distant memory, but before you even think about bunkering down and hibernating for winter, The Star Gold Coast has gone ahead and dropped a seriously hot-as-heck line-up for the remainder of its Live on The Lawn series, which runs every Thursday through to Sunday from now until June 12 at Garden Kitchen & Bar. The live (and free!) showcase is here to quell our craving for bangers and bites – two of our favourite things!
Kicking things off in sensational style is Sydney’s electronic duo Set Mo (DJ set), aka Nick Drabble and Stu Turner, on Saturday May 15. The pair, best known for their blissed-out track ‘White Dress’ (feat. Deutsch Duke), will treat revellers to dreamy soundscapes, groovy bass lines and sexy strings from 8:30 pm. Next on the gig list is the rescheduled date for the rambunctious Northeast Party House (DJ set) on May 22. The high-energy party starters have moved on from warehouse parties in Melbourne’s inner city to packed-out gigs and headline events, so this is definitely one for the calendar. On Saturday May 29, Bag Raiders (DJ set) will have the open-air dance floor pumping with festival anthems aplenty. It’s been a decade since the release of their self-titled debut album and yet ‘Shooting Stars’ hasn’t strayed too far from our party playlists.
If all of that dancing has left you famished, the Container Kitchen will be churning out mouth-watering bites including sweet-potato empanadas with spiced avocado dip, fried-cheeseburger dumplings (yum!) and Jamaican jerk-chicken burgers. Take a peek at the program here. Hot tip, get there early to nab yourself a sweet spot on The Lawn.
