The sun-soaked Sunday session that’s serving up tops tunes, unbelievable bites and a hefty dose of good vibes

Ditch the Sunday scaries with a cracking arvo session offering up delicious eats, top-notch beats and a whole lot of good vibes. The much-loved Live on The Lawn sessions at Broadbeach favourite Garden Kitchen & Bar are the ultimate way to end your weekend.

When the end of the weekend approaches, it can be easy to accept that you’re about to get back into the grind and that your Sunday night will be – let’s face it – more than a little bit boring. Well, friends, there’s no need to accept a fate that includes a cup of tea, an episode of Gardening Australia and bed by 8:00 pm (or is that just us?). Every week, The Lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar hosts one of the coast’s favourite Sunday sessions, featuring killer live tunes from resident McKenzie Band, indulgent bites and bliss-inspiring bevvies – all while the setting sun transforms to twinkling stars. As summer approaches, be sure to catch special Sunday sets including Chunky N Carter brought to you by Hard Fizz on Sunday November 7 (we heard there will even be a special guest DJ!) and James Blundell on Sunday November 14, starting early at 2:00 pm for a proper afternoon session.

Keeping you fuelled for the night is the Container Kitchen, the aptly named purveyor of delicious share snacks perched at the end of The Lawn in a converted shipping container. The diverse bites walk the line between naughty and nice, with an offering including avo and prawn tacos topped with tomato salsa, fried chicken sandos with crispy coleslaw and onion rings, and the signature Garden truffled mac ’n’ cheese smothered in bechamel. For those that simply can’t decide – we feel you – choose a bunch and share them amongst your mates, while you wash it all down with a hand-crafted cocktail.

For those keen to celebrate the end of their week in style, you can head to the Live on The Lawn Sunday sessions every week from 4:00 pm. Plus, entry and parking is free. Cheers to that! Head to The Star Gold Coast’s website to peep the full line-up.
