Five unmissable events at Jupiters Hotel & Casino

From sake pairing to knee-slapping comedy, boy band hits and Melbourne Cup festivities, Jupiters Hotel & Casino is keeping the good times rolling this month. Here are our top five picks of must-see events.

Sake month at Kiyomi
An entire month of sake goodness – we like the sound of that! Get into Kiyomi this October to enjoy the cutting-edge Japanese cuisine created by chef Chase Kojima – and have your dishes perfectly matched with sake by the expert team. Kiyomi will be offering a variety of sake types throughout the month, and if you simply can’t decide, then it’s best you try the sake flight (sampler), which features three different types of the flavour-packed traditional rice-based beverage.

Melbourne Cup 2016
Jupiter’s is spoiling the Gold Coast for choice with a series stylish events – you can enjoy delicious Italian fare, live entertainment and terrace views at Cucina Vivo or go all-out at the Food Fantasy special Melbourne Cup buffet spread. Garden Kitchen & Bar will serve up a vibrant three-course spring menu, with the terrace area to become a hub with live music and fashions on the field – a heads up though, bookings are filling up really fast. If you miss out on a table, you can keep it casual and soak up the Melbourne Cup vibes on the Garden Kitchen & Bar’s lush lawn and order an exclusive Melbourne Cup picnic basket, with lavish charcuterie boards and waiter service. If you’d rather not frock up for the big day, then simply get your gear off and celebrate in relaxed luxury – hire a poolside bungalow with a private spa, plush lounge and enjoy the big race playing live on your own TV. You’ll have your own personal waiter serving specially prepared food platters and drinks. Jump online to book, but be quick!

Veuve Clicquot Airstream in Garden Kitchen & Bar
Excitement alert – the Veuve Clicquot Airstream will be rolling into Garden Kitchen & Bar for the month of November, forming part of an exclusive area on the sun-kissed lawn. Kicking off on November 1 for Melbourne Cup, the Airstream will then be in operation on Fridays from 4:00 pm and the weekends from 1:00 pm, serving up fresh oysters, crab sliders (drool), cheese platters with seasonal poached fruits and house-baked lavosh, plus strawberries and cream – the perfect selection of fare to accompany a flute or two of Veuve Clicquot.

Bill Bailey Larks in Transit
Touted as ‘the brainiest comic of his generation’, English comedian Bill Bailey is marking 20 years since his first performance on Australian shores with his new show, Larks in Transit. This will be a hoot, with Bill Bailey showcasing his compendium of travel tales and the shenanigans of spending 20 years as a travelling comedian. Combining his musical brilliance with his trademark intelligence, Bill Bailey will be tackling everything from politics, philosophy, the pursuit of happiness, death metal and ringtones, plus an excruciating encounter with Paul McCartney. You can catch Bill Bailey’s live performance on Saturday November 5.

Boys in the Band
International hit show Boys in the Band is making its Gold Coast debut on Saturday November 12. The feel-good high-energy show will feature a live musical journey through 50 years of the greatest hits from the world’s biggest boy bands. Ladies and gents, prepare to get on your feet and put your hands in the air – this concert will include songs from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, The Beatles, The Jackson 5, Bee Gees, The Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, Human Nature and Backstreet Boys. No matter what generation you’re from, you’ll love this musical degustation.

One for the calendar: Australian rock icon Jimmy Barnes will be heading to Jupiters Theatre on December 2, with an intimate musical performance of key songs drawn from his earliest years.
