There’s certainly a real art to crafting the perfect cocktail. Mixologists put a lot of work into these drinkable creations – and it’s all for your sipping pleasure. Now, the team at dreamy Surfers Paradise hotspot Hyde Paradiso are flipping the script and giving you, the cocktail sippers of the Gold Coast, the chance to try your hand at cocktail making with its newly launched Mixology Masterclasses.

That’s right, Hyde’s own cocktail masterminds will be revealing their secrets for these exclusive booking-only masterclasses, which will have you and your crew shaking and swizzling (oh, and sipping) your own series of cocktails. The Mixology Masterclasses will take over the Venetian-inspired Sgroppino Room, with attendees taught to recreate their choice of cocktails from Hyde’s list, which was designed by awarded bartender Tim Phillips, the owner of Sydney bars Bulletin Place and Dead Ringer.

In the masterclass, you’ll create two classic cocktails of your choice, as well as two of Hyde’s signature sgroppinos. It’s an interactive kind of vibe, so get ready to shake and stir while you learn the tricks of the trade from some of the best in the business. After you’ve sipped your creations, you’ll be able to relax and soak up the glorious beach views with a charcuterie and cheese platter. If you’re keen to kick on, masterclass attendees will also get their own reserved ocean-view booth for the evening. The Hyde Paradiso Mixology Masterclasses run for 90 minutes from 12:00–4:00 pm daily (bookings must be made a week in advance). Head to the website for more info and to book.
