Fill your belly at Groove ‘n’ Food festival Burleigh Heads

Fill your belly at Groove ‘n’ Food festival Burleigh Heads

Prepare yourself for the delicious scent of barbecue to engulf Burleigh Heads this weekend courtesy of the Groove ‘n’ Food festival. The annual event is rolling in to town from Friday July 31 to Sunday August 2.

Offering a sensory smorgasbord of entertainment, the Groove ‘n’ Food festival will tantalise tastebuds with a side of sweet live music over a series of events throughout the weekend. Starting on Friday, the festival gets off to a stellar start with The Groove Train Progressive Degustation Lunch that will take you on a tour of four of Burleigh’s most popular restaurants in five hours. Tickets for the roaming feast are $95, head over to the Groove ‘n’ Food website to nab yourself a spot. As always, Burleigh Brew Jam is easing you into your weekend with some cool tunes and icy beverages. A courtesy bus is departing from the North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club at 5:15 pm but only for those who have planned ahead and reserved their seat.

Carnivores will be salivating as the Low ‘n’ Slow barbecue cook-off gets underway. Ed Hardy Park will be transformed into an American-style smokehouse as 25 teams cook up a storm for a panel of 30 judges to share in $6,000 in prizes. Unfortunately there isn’t a people’s choice vote so you won’t get to taste the meaty morsels but there will be a number of other food vendors in the area to fill your belly. Wrapping up the festival and your weekend is Groove ‘n’ Tunes featuring some of the Gold Coast’s finest music makers and shakers. Bring a blanket and enjoy an afternoon of excellent entertainment. Groove ‘n’ Food is proudly brought to you by Burleigh Tourism, Ray White Broadbeach, City of Gold Coast, Radar Hill Smokers and Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce.
