Sundown sessions and sublime sips abound at Good Times HQ this summer

Whether you’re a rosé devotee, have a penchant for picnics, want to sip on a summertime spritz or savour some sake, The Star Gold Coast has you covered with its brand-new line-up that kicks off this week. Say hello to Good Times HQ, The Star’s seasonal offering that’s packed with some unmissable events to really level up the silly season.

For the roaming rosé lovers
If you’re the kind of person that loves a choose-your-own-adventure scenario and hates being tied down, then we have just the thing for you. The clever folk at The Star are offering a very special Rosé Your Way session on Saturdays and Sundays, which allows you to purchase a Rosé Passport and make your way around four of The Star’s venues, sipping on a glass of the rose-hued drop at each spot alongside a delicious paired snack. Each locale will offer up a different pairing – you can expect bites such as Sydney rock oysters with a pepper-berry mignonette at Garden Kitchen & Bar, house-made mushroom arancini with truffle aioli at Cin Cin at Cucina Vivo, Old Bay spiced potato pave and beef tartare at Nineteen at The Star, and tempura prawns with chilli mayo at Atrium Bar. You can nab a Rosé Passport on arrival at The Star for $69 per person ($79.35 on public holidays) from 2:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday.

For the lawn lazers
Soak up the sunshine while you sip and snack from the comfort of your personal picnic table or blanket at Graze on The Lawn, with live music bringing the good vibes and plenty to nibble on. Pre-book a decadent shared grazing box featuring pillowy breads, crispy crackers and an array of delights to pile them high with – think cheeses, olives and charcuterie meats, plus fresh fruits to accompany it all. Otherwise, you can choose to purchase a platter for two on the day, perfect to share for a picnic in the afternoon hours. You can picnic on The Lawn on Saturdays and Sundays from December 18 from 12:00 pm ’til late, with the live tunes starting at 2:00 pm. Grazing boxes feed six to eight people and are $89 ($102.35 on public holidays), plus you’ll receive ten percent off bottled wine on The Lawn to wash it all down. Platters are $29 ($33.35 on public holidays) and serve two people.

For the sake sippers
Go on a journey – without leaving the Gold Coast – at The Star’s beloved Kiyomi Bar this summer. Whether you’re a sake aficionado or you’re only just discovering the rice-based gem, enjoy a tasting of Japan’s finest drops at the modern drink dispensary at Kiyomi’s Sake Flight Tasting. It’s the ideal way to start off your night and wet your whistle before dinner, or to end the night on a sake-soaked high note. Kiyomi Bar’s sake flight is $45 per person ($51.75 on public holidays) and available from 5:30 pm on operating days.

For the Italophiles
The home of Italian delights at The Star, Cucina Vivo, is taking things to a whole new European-inspired level from December 17. Say ciao to Cin Cin on The Terrazza – expect refreshing spritzes, drool-worthy bites and live DJ’s on repeat as the sun dips towards the horizon and sets over the pool every Friday and Saturday (apart from Christmas and New Year’s Eve, of course). The early sessions, which run from 3:00–6:30 pm, are reminiscent of laid-back Italian knock-off drinks enjoyed in the afternoon hours between work and dinner.
