Amy Shark to headline the Gold Coast’s 60th birthday bash – and it’s free!

Homegrown songstress Amy Shark will headline a free Gold Coast concert in celebration of the city’s 60th year. The coast’s momentous Diamond Jubilee celebration (aka its 60th birthday bash) will take over the Broadwater Parklands in Southport on Saturday July 13.

After a whirlwind year of touring, ARIA Award-winning Amy Shark will be back in her home town to lead the city’s massive celebrations, which will also include The Lamplights, Eliza & The Delusionals and the Hanlon Brothers. That’s right, it’s an all-Gold Coast line-up and it’s all completely free! The massive public party is being hosted by City of Gold Coast to mark 60 years since the region was renamed from South Coast to Gold Coast.

You’ll also be able to treat your tastebuds as well as your ears, with a delicious series to food trucks lining the parklands to curb your cravings, as well as entertainment for the kids. The celebrations will kick off at 3:00 pm and run through to 7:00 pm, and it will all finish with a real-life bang with a spectacular fireworks display to cap off the event. Hot tip – it’ll be a busy one, so try and catch the G:link in. Head to the Facebook page for updates closer to the event.
