Gold Coast, prepare yourselves for a sensory overload – GLOW is back! Over three wondrous nights – Thursday August 1 to Saturday August 3 –  the free community festival will light up the skies at HOTA with interactive artworks, wild installations and all-ages performances that will intrigue, enlighten and engage all of the senses.

This year, the theme for GLOW is ‘Creatures and Colours of the Night’, with a stellar line-up of local, national and international acts and artists exploring all that shimmers, moves and creeps through a program of memorable moments, activations and experiences. The festival will run from 5:00–9:00 pm each night at HOTA with acts, installations and performances to run continuously from dusk until after dark – and there will be plenty of food trucks, live music and pop-up bars for audiences to enjoy in between.

Headlining GLOW 2019 is the spectacular Borealis show by acclaimed Swedish artist Dan Acher. Essentially, you’ll be able to experience the Northern Lights from the comfort of your picnic blankets (whoa!) as the glorious colours of the aurora are replicated and projected over the Outdoor Stage lawns – all accompanied by a stunning soundtrack from the voices from the HOTA Choir! Also keep an eye out for the roaming FierS à Cheval, a dream-like cavalcade of glowing white horses brought to life by French spectacle company Compagnie des Quidamns. Mountain by Stalker will take your eyes to the sky with an innovative visual spectacle combining aerial theatre with cutting-edge interactive technology, while light installation Morphology will allow audiences to sculpt their own neon wires. The kids will be kept busy by splashing on some UV body paint at HOTA’s ArtLab before embracing their inner wild-child in the little creatures disco.

Don’t miss GLOW 2019’s wondrous myriad of activities from August 1–3. Jump over here to scope out the full program.
