Pick up a paintbrush for Cucina Vivo’s Cork, Culinary & Colour event
While we might be a creative bunch here at The Weekend Edition, our specialty is the written word – impressive painters, we are not. That’s nothing a little wine can’t fix, however, and heck – a little tiramisu would probably help get the creative juices flowing too! Thankfully, beloved Broadbeach eatery Cucina Vivo is melding all three of these components into one fun-filled session when Cork, Culinary & Colour takes over the restaurant. On Saturday April 10 and Saturday April 24, you can try out your art skills, devour delicious bites and sip on winning drops. Picasso, pizza and pinot – yes, please!
If you’ve never been to a paint-and-sip session, then you’re in for a treat! Cucina Vivo’s Cork, Culinary & Colour event will allow you to unlock your inner Monet, supplying you with all of the artistic goods that you need to create a masterpiece – a canvas, a paintbrush, lots of paint and of course, some helpful instruction. Your appetite for art won’t be the only appetite satisfied during this event, as you’ll also get to indulge in Italian-inspired high-tea nibbles and a two-hour beverage package. That, friends, is what we call living la dolce vita.
Now, let’s talk all things high tea. Cucina Vivo will be serving up a smorgasbord of savoury and sweet delights to sate your senses. Kick off your creative afternoon with mini salmon panino, egg sandwiches, focaccia topped with bruschetta, bresaola, parmesan and rocket, arancini balls, and pizza fritta with prosciutto and aged balsamic. Of course, no feast is complete without a sweet treat to cleanse the palate (while you’re working your palette), so you’ll be able to dig a spoon into enticing desserts like tiramisu, cannoli, brownies and zuppa inglese (a custard-and-sponge layer cake). You can wash it all down with refreshing Cape Mentelle and Chandon drops, which are included in your ticket. To secure your spot at this creative class, head here.
