Soak up the nostalgic vibes at Cooly Rocks On this June
The rock and rockabilly vibes will be in full swing this June as Coolangatta prepares for the 2018 instalment of Cooly Rocks On. Held from June 6–10, the renowned beachside festival will showcase a jam-packed five-day program of hot rods, live rock ‘n roll music, dancing and good old-fashioned fun.
This year’s stellar Cooly Rocks On program will light up the heart of Coolangatta with rock’n’ roll, rockabilly and swing artists providing plenty of street-side entertainment alongside dance displays, workshops, a longboard surfing competition, a Poodles & Pugs Parade, a vintage picnic, retro markets and the signature street parade featuring floats, vintage cars, surf wagons, bikes, vans and more.
Back again for another year in the jam-packed event is the the famed Miss Cooly Rocks On and Miss Rockabilly competitions, which celebrate the pin-up culture and glamour of the 40s, 50s and 60s. There will be plenty of live concerts happening at various stages dotted across the precinct, with headliner and American star Lance Lipinsky joining the likes of Koffin Rockers, Lonnie Lee & The Leemen, Louie Shelton and Issi Dye.
