Venture south for some spicy, sweat-inducing fun at the annual Chinderah Chilli Festival

Friends, prepare thy stomachs – the annual Chinderah Chilli Festival is back! Mark Saturday March 7 in your diary and prepare for some spicy, sweaty and totally delicious fun south of the border.

Held at The Cudgen Leagues Club (Wommin Bay Road, Kingscliff) the Chinderah Chilli Festival‘s flavour-packed one-day celebration of all-things chilli is set to delight the most serious spice lovers, with various chilli-themed vendors and international food trucks lining the event precinct to showcase eye-watering red-hot goods. If you can handle the heat, enter into a chilli-eating competition (yes, cold milk will be handy), or head along to browse the market stalls and stock up on some of Australia’s best chilli sauces, rubs, jams and jerky, as well as chilli plants and seeds.

A pop-up bar will be on hand so you can douse the heat with ice-cold beers and Brookie’s Gin cocktails, and there will be plenty of action to keep the kids at bay. Not into chilli? Don’t sweat it! There will be heaps of different food vendors (including vegan options) with non-chilli dishes for those that don’t like the spice. Well-behaved pets are welcome on leads, and there will be live music throughout the day. Chilli fiend or not, the Chinderah Chilli Fest is a must-do!

Entry is a gold coin donation, which goes to the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) and youth-care organisation CASPA. For more information and updates, head to the Chinderah Chilli Festival Facebook page.
