The Byron Writers Festival 2018 unfolds for three days of storytelling, ideas and conversation

The Byron Writers Festival is back for another year, with more than 140 writers, thinkers and commentators forming part of the event’s thrilling three-day program, which is set to shine the light on local emerging writers and literary icons from afar. Prepare to be inspired.

The Byron Writers Festival will take over Elements of Byron resort from August 3–5, with key events, conversations and panels to be showcased across six stages, supported by a series of workshops and evening events that will be held throughout Byron Bay and the surrounds. This year’s program has been designed to inspire and engage, with stories to take audiences from the wilds of New Zealand to North Korea, Tuscany and back home, covering genres from anxiety to crime, science, immigration, comedy, wellness and poetry.

The line-up is beyond impressive – we’re talking Australian writers like Tom Keneally, Robert Drew, Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty, crime authors like Candice Fox and Jane Harper, romantics like Rachael Johns and Victoria Purman, and many more coveted names. Bernard Fanning will delve deep into his songbooks, while famed comedian Kitty Flanagan will take the stage for a knee-slapping conversation with Mandy Nolan. You can get your eyes on the full Byron Writers Festival 2018 program online.
