Burleigh Pavilion to plate up plant-based pub food for a one-night-only vegan feast
Generally speaking, pub food doesn’t offer a whole lot of options for plant-based eaters. For the vegan crowd that truly miss being able to devour greasy, cheesy and smoky pub classics – we’ve got good news. On Thursday September 19, Burleigh Pavilion will be hosting a one-off Vegan Feast, recreating a series of moreish dishes using entirely plant-based ingredients.
The one-night-only Vegan Feast is a collaboration between Burleigh Pavilion and Sydney’s popular plant-based bistro pub The Green Lion, an establishment well-known for recreating the tastes and textures commonly found in animal-based ingredients through a range of unique and interesting ingredients and substitute recipes. The event will see the two venues join forces in the Burleigh Pavilion kitchen to create a series of delicious all-vegan pub meals served in a banquet-style setting across two ticketed dinner sessions on Thursday September 19.
Each session will kick off with a vegan cocktail on arrival before getting stuck into starters like loaded poutine fries with gravy and cheese, mac ‘n’ cheese balls with aioli and pickles, and prawn and calamari with Asian slaw. For the main event, you’ll share pizzas like potato with caramelised onion, truffle oil and blue cheese, and barbecue ‘chicken’ with gouda, mozzarella, red onion and barbecue sauce, as well as a classic cheeseburger with a plant-based spin. To finish? A gooey chocolate brownie. There will be vegan wines available at the bar to purchase, and you can kick on with DJ beats continuing well into the night.
Tickets are $55 per person for the vegan banquet, with drinks purchased separately. For more info and to book your spot, head here.
